Discover Gijón:

Guided tour through the historic center of Cimavilla where we will focus on its seafaring past and the tradition of sea urchins. Sea urchins have always been consumed in Gijón/Xixón to the point that they are part of the local tradition. Asturias is the region of Spain where sea urchins are most appreciated with an annual consumption that exceeds 400 tons, most of them consumed in Gijón/Xixón. The purpose of this route is to show unique places in the neighborhood of Cimavilla related to its capture, sale or consumption. The tour includes a visit to the Museum of the Casa Natal de Jovellanos where there is artwork related to fishing that allows us to raise the sea urchins as part of the heritage of Gijón, in the gastronomic sphere and in the ethnographic and cultural.
